The Intex 2,500 Gallon Swimming Pool Filter Pump is a 120 V AC swimming pool pump which is recommended for use with Intex 24′ Easy Set, Frame Set pools, Ellipse Oval pools, Rectangular Frame pools as well as other similar sized pools from other manufacturers. It is a replacement pump for Intex Wet Set Krystal Clear models 51, 520, 520R, 58621, 56631 and 56633.
This swimming pool pump comes equipped with an air release valve to evacuate any air that happens to be trapped inside the filter chamber. There is also a sediment flush valve at the bottom of the filter chamber for easier maintenance. The Intex 2,500 Gallon Filter Swimming Pool Pump is very easy to install, all that you need to do is to connect the hoses and plug it in. All of the hoses, plunger valves, strainers and clamps are included within the packaging.

Hosing is 1.5″ ID, inside diameter. If used on non Intex pools you will find plumbing adapters that will allow you to use this pump with pools that have hook-ups with a larger or smaller inside diameter from your local hardware stores. Installation is very easy – just hook-up the hoses and plug the pump into a 110 to 120 volt outlet. The pump is double insulated for safety and long life. Pump features an air release valve for air trapped inside the filter chamber. Pump has a sediment flush valve at the bottom of the filter chamber for easier maintenance.

The are several hundred reviews online for the Intex 2,500 Gallon Swimming Pool Filter Pump, many of which are good but within this volume there are also some negative reviews out there. Most of the reviews we found were positive and a lot of people were very impressed with the performance of the pump. People were surprised at how much more suction the vacuum attachment was getting with this pump and many people are reporting dramatic differences after upgrading from a smaller swimming pool pump.

A number of people which had smaller swimming pool pumps described that regardless of how they attempted to clean the pool, their water was turning green because their swimming pool pump simply couldn’t move enough volume of water through the filter quickly enough. However, after upgrading to the Intex 2,500 Gallon Swimming Pool Filter Pump and letting the pump run overnight, they woke up to a brand new swimming pool of crystal clear water.

Another reviewer was unpleasantly surprised about how quickly the filter cartridges clogged up. If the filter cartridges are not kept clean the pump flow will decrease dramatically and this reviewer stated that the cartridges needed constant cleaning, although the manufacturer states they should last 2 weeks. A number of other reviewers were also quite disappointed with the manufacturer, saying that they were not supporting their product within the warranty period.
